Union’s Introduction
Aquatic’s Production & Trade Union of Iran was established in Iran in 1997 under license number 30836 in the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture.
The main policy was to develop the export of aquatic produce axis as its goal. Eventually, considering the broadening of the horizon of the Union’s range of practice , many subjects were developed such as creating data registry systems, branding, and participating in domestic and forein exhibitions . Also enhancing quality and quantity of the produce while discovering and detecting new markets simultaneously became top-prioritized issues in the Union’s plans.
UNION’S SERVICES
The most important practices of the union are elaborated on in detail as follows:
- Constant follow-up of closed agreements on quarantine with target export countries.
- Gaining export license rights for Iran aquatics’ export to the European Union and countries, such as Russia, China, Korea, Vietnam, and other major marketplaces for Iranian aquatics
- Participating as the representative of the members in the related international exhibitions along with inviting and welcoming representative groups of foreign buyers of Iranian aquatics
- Being the voice of the country’s aquatics industry in relation to state organization.
- Observing the produce in the inside market.
- Organizing various technical and trade action committees for expert analysis and offering professional highlights including the Shrimp, Caviar, Caged culture , exporting, farmed leech , and Legal Committee.
Union’s Members
Based on the statute a wide range of members constitute the country’s union of aquatics members. This group including the companies active in the aquatics industry such as processing units, distributors of aquatics produce in domestic markets, exporters and importers , aquatics feed producers, main farmers of Caviar, Tilapia and fish in cage , canning factories and Companies active in the field of supplying equipment related to fisheries and aquaculture industry.
UNION MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Companies that have the following licenses can become members of the union:
processing units, aquatics industries, aquatics feed factories, producers of fish in the cage, producers of caviar fish, aquatic exporters and importers , and holders of distribution licenses in the domestic market.
UNION’S OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The operational activities of the Union are governed by the Secretariat and the seven committees specialized in various sectors.
The head of each committee is a member of the board of directors and the secretary is chosen from one of the activists related to the subject of the committee’s activity.
