TEHRAN- Iran ranks the first in the Middle East in terms of aquaculture production, IRIB reported on Saturday quoting Iran’s Fisheries Production and Trading Union Secretary General Ali-Akbar Khodaei as saying. United States: Imports of shrimp 2018
The United States imported 695,723 metric tons of shrimp in 2018, with an increase of 4.8% compared to the previous year. Six countries exported the 88.3% of total shrimp imported by the United States: India (35.6%),Indonesia (19%), Ecuador (10.9%), Vietnam (8.4%), China (7.3%) and Thailand (7.1%) The main exporting countries were: India ??: 248,127 TM, with 35.6 % of participation and an increase of 16 % compared to the year 2017. Iran shrimp exports forecast to increase 50%
Undercurrent NewsMay 25, 2017 09:39 GMT Iran’s annual shrimp production beginning March 21 is forecast to hit 30,000 metric tons, according to Ali Akbar Khodaei, secretary general of Iran’s fisheries union, reports Mehr News Agency. On the back of higher production, exports are expected to climb to 21,000t. Last year, total production amounted to 21,000t, said Khodaei, with around 14,000t going for export, said Khodaei.
